How to Dispose of Your DIRTBAGS

You can dispose of DIRTBAGS in your regular household waste if necessary, but there are better options to reduce environmental impact.

Home composting:
You can compost the bags yourself, separate from food waste or edible plants. Keep in mind that dog waste can contain pathogens, so the compost should not be used for growing food. Dog waste takes several months to break down safely, so patience is needed.

Industrial composting:
If your local council or facility accepts compostable dog waste bags, industrial composting is a fast and safe way for DIRTBAGS to break down completely.

Dog waste or general waste bins:
If composting isn’t an option, use a designated dog waste bin or black general waste bag. In most areas, dog waste from these bins is sent for incineration rather than landfill, which releases fewer harmful emissions than conventional plastic bags.

Landfill:
Landfill conditions slow decomposition, so while DIRTBAGS will eventually break down, avoiding landfill disposal helps reduce your overall environmental impact.

Important tips:

  • Do not flush bags down the toilet.
  • DIRTBAGS are not recyclable in standard recycling streams.
  • Always check your local council guidance for composting and disposal rules.
